An iPhone or iPad with LiDAR is a strong choice for fast interior property capture when portability, structured room context and a low-friction field workflow matter. It is not a universal replacement for a laser distance meter, terrestrial scanner, certified measured survey or professional judgement. Buy the workflow only after defining the required spaces, tolerances, outputs and verification steps.

What mobile LiDAR actually provides

LiDAR measures distance using emitted light and helps a compatible Apple device understand nearby geometry.
